Welcome to the official page of the CCBA Governmental Affairs Committee.

What is the CCBA doing for YOU?

  • Serves as the Building Industry Information Conduit between government agencies and contractors on permitting and inspection issues.
  • Continuously works to streamline and improve the Permitting Process.
  • Continuously monitors the County Building Division budget and fee schedule.

  • Continuously advocates for proper monitoring, transparency, and accountability of Impact Fees.

  • Continuously monitors all proposed Ordinances that would negatively impact the Building Industry and Homeowners.

With your support we can do so much more!

For more information contact the CCBA at 352-746-9028 to find out how YOU can help.

Effective March 1, 2022, the Florida Construction Industry Licensing Board entered into a reciprocity agreement with the North Carolina Licensing Board for General Contractors, allowing our currently licensed Florida Certified General Contractors (CGCs), Certified Building Contractors (CBCs), and Certified Residential Contractors (CRCs) an easier path to obtain licensure in North Carolina provided certain other requirements are met. For more information, contact the North Carolina Licensing Board for General Contractors

Additionally, effective August 1, 2022, another reciprocity agreement was entered into with the Mississippi State Board of Contractors, allowing Florida CGCs, CBCs, and CRCs an easier path to obtain licensure in Mississippi provided certain other requirements are met. For additional information, contact the Mississippi State Board of Contractors.

We understand the pride that comes with being a licensed professional, and these two agreements, in addition to the agreement signed with Louisiana in 2021, demonstrate a continued effort by the Florida CILB and DBPR to ensure that our licensed contractors are not only able to pursue opportunities all over the country, but also to share their knowledge and skills with a wider group of people. The Florida CILB and DBPR will continue to pursue similar agreements with other states over the coming years, so be sure to monitor the Board’s webpage for new developments.
